The National Housing Institute is a small, 3-person, 38-year old nonprofit progressive research and communications organization that looks at affordable housing, community organizing and community development in low-income communities. We publish reports, hold meetings, publish a quarterly magazine, and run a number of websites.
NHI is looking for a part-time administrative assistant to provide support for the director, editor, and development associate. In addition to general office administrative activities (phones, office organization and maintenance, etc.), the administrative assistant will also assist in managing the distribution of magazines and reports, maintaining office equipment, and other tasks as assigned to keep the office running smoothly.
There will be opportunities to participate in editorial planning and research meetings.
The volunteer administrative assistant will have to be well organized, computer literate (we are a Mac-based office) outgoing, friendly, enjoy speaking with and working with others, and able to write well. To apply send e-mail to Brittany@nhi.org
