Growing up, was there an adult in your life who truly made a difference? A parent, teacher, coach, aunt or uncle, even a neighbor? Many children need an extra adult presence in their lives to let them know someone really cares.

The San Francisco Education Fund is looking for mentors to work with students throughout the City.

Believe it or not, teachers request mentors for their students as often as they request subject matter tutors. To reach their full potential, young people need to know: there is someone who is interested in how they're feeling; there is someone who is interested in what they're doing; and there is someone who truly cares about them.

Mentors are needed in San Francisco public schools at all grade levels. The commitment is only one hour per week for one year. Many of our mentors find that meeting their buddy over lunch hour works really well. Only three hours of training is necessary; a sincere desire to help others is the most important requirement.

If you would like to make a difference in the life of a child we invite you to sign up for an Information Session by clicking on this link:

Please call Tom Laursen at 415 695-5400 ext. 3024 if you have any questions at all.

You can, and will, make a difference in a child's life!
