Do you want to get fit while helping others? Summa Health System has a volunteer opportunity for you!

We are currently looking for Hospital Guide volunteers to join our Volunteer Voyagers Walking Program. Hospital Guide volunteers help patients and visitors find their way around Summa Akron City Hospital and St. Thomas Hospital.

As a Volunteer Voyager, you will wear a pedometer and track your steps during each volunteer shift. With 2,000 steps equaling one mile, the collective goal is to walk from Miami Beach, Florida to Vancouver, Canada.

When we reach our goal, we'll have a themed reward party for all of the Volunteer Voyagers!

Skills:

• Outgoing and Friendly Personality: Must be comfortable approaching visitors and offering assistance. Must be willing to actively look for people to help.

Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for a 4 hour shift.
• Ability to push an individual in a wheelchair.
• Ability to read a map and learn your way around.
• Willingness to approach visitors and offer assistance.
