The Nanubhai Education Foundation (501c3), founded in 2004, is dedicated to improving education in India's rural public schools. We work to encourage both teachers and students to achieve excellence in the classroom, and to use their enhanced English skills to fully participate in India's ever-growing economy. Without strong English language instruction, even the most dedicated students cannot gain access to jobs available to their urban, English-speaking counterparts.
About the Position
The Residential Teaching Fellows program is a unique opportunity to work with small groups of motivated students at a boarding school through our Spoken English program. Fellows will work with both Nanubhai and school staff to develop a curriculum to help students practice speaking English. Classes will last about one hour per day and be held either before or after school. Spoken English is designed to be a time for students to practice their conversational English, develop confidence in their speaking abilities, and have fun learning.
Fellows are expected to teach anywhere from 4 to 10 months, depending on the availability of the Fellow.
Benefits and Salary
You're also welcome to travel in India before/after your fellowship, if time is available on your visa. Our ground team will be happy to make recommendations on places to visit.
Fellows will be responsible for the cost of their airfare.
We are looking for candidates who:
We are accepting applications on a rolling basis, but please apply no later than three months before the date you wish to arrive in India.
