Volunteer Opportunity description

This position is a cross between a job, volunteer work-study, and internship. Thi sis the same listing that is under "Internships." There is only one opening at our farm.

We are currently offering a position for a farm assistant manager.

Internship Starts: March 15, 2013

Internship Lasts: 6 months to 1 year.

App Deadline: February 15, 2013.

Exchange: 24 hours per week in exchange for accommodations in our hand-built timber frame home, large shared common areas, off-grid utilities, hosting and supporting membership at Earthaven Ecovillage and all EH dues and fees, some food exchange, and lots of opportunity for learning (formal education potentially available through the school of integrated living if it falls during your time with us).

You possess:
• A desire to contribute to and be a part of an integrated and complex homestead farm and off-grid neighborhood.
• Experience with one of the following: management, cooperative living, farming/gardening, nourishing foods cooking.
• Cooperation skills, communication skills, curiosity, maturity, dedication, and work ethic.

Educational Opportunities: homestead farming, permaculture, small dairy management, jersey cows, running a small farming business, pastured poultry, orcharding, food-preservation, communication skills, living cooperatively, conscious relating, water systems, electrical systems, building, infrastructure maintenance, meat goats, medicine making, village economics, seasonal eating, annual vegetable production, etc.
