Volunteer Opportunity description

Friends-International is a social enterprise that works with marginalized urban children and youth, their families and communities, to help them become independent and productive citizens of their country.

Friends-International is seeking a qualified candidate to fill the position of English Teacher Volunteer who will work closely with our TREE (Training Restaurants for Employment and Entrepreneurship) team. TREE represents a global alliance of training restaurants working to build futures for former street youth, marginalized young people and adults.

Position overview

English Teacher Volunteer will be working on developing new curriculum for hospitality students and implementing that curriculum in our vocational training program.

ENGLISH TEACHER VOLUNTEER will:

  • Teach English language;
  • Develop a curriculum for English lessons;
  • Train local staff on creative teaching methods;
  • Create teaching material (picture cards, games etc).

Experiences and qualifications:

  • Degree in Education or TESOL certificate is preferred;
  • Classroom environment working experience of minimum 1 year;
  • English native speaker;
  • Excellent communication skills.

Location: This position is based in Phnom Penh.

Duration: Six months project, part-time or full-time.

This is a volunteer position.
