The ReStore is a retail store and a new social-enterprise of Habitat for Humanity. We believe in community development through affordable housing, and we fund homes by selling donated home-improvement items to the general public. All our the proceeds fund Habitat for Humanity Greater SF. Our ReStore is located in San Carlos and the funds we raise help build homes for low-income families in San Francisco, Marin and the Peninsula.
We have a small staff, so we depend on volunteers to help with all our operations. Right now, the Habitat ReStore especially needs Donation Pick-Up volunteers to help bring donations to the store.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the ReStore driver in picking-up donations
- Communicate the assigned route information to driver
- Help complete the paperwork process
- Screen donations to ensure that they are high-quality
Requirements:
- Strong cusomter service and communication skills
- Able to work well with a partner
- Able to life 50 lbs
- Knowledge of the Peninsula's communities
Time Commitment: 1 eight -hour shift, from 9 - 5, on a Wed - Sat, however often you like.
We provide a 10 minute orientation on initial volunteer shift with additional on-the-job training
