Volunteer Opportunity description

Have a passion for helping others? Interested in teaching a course on Microsoft Access? You've come to the right place!

Byte Back is a computer literacy non-profit focused on bridging the digital divide. We teach classes all over the District of Columbia and surrounding areas to teach people valuable computer skills to help further their education or reach their career goals. As part of Enterprise DC, a new initiative, we are working with the Washington Area Community Investment Fund to offer courses focused on business development for participants who hope to be entrepreneurs!

We are looking for a volunteer to teach an evening Access class this spring. Classes will be held at Byte Back, Inc. located just off the Brookland-CUA Metro on the red line. We provide support, curriculum, and resources to ensure your teaching experience is seamless.

We are seeking volunteers who are familiar with Access to be able to do the following: create a database using tables, forms, reports, and queries in different views like datasheet and design view; teach someone to make the most of the sample databases that come in Access and use them to help develop their business; and to help others learn how to share their database on the web.

Our volunteers are the backbone of our organization, and we are looking for a reliable, enthusiastic, and committed individual. Interested? Contact Ashley Luttmer at aluttmer@byteback.org for more information. We look forward to hearing from you!
