Long-term AmeriCorps Members (August 2013-August 2014) needed to serve preschool students from low-income families in Christian Appalachian Project's Child and Family Development Centers. Child development programs include teaching reasoning, communication, social, physical and emotional development as well as creative expression. Participation of the entire family is encouraged through home visits, parenting classes and involvement in the center.

Long-term volunteers receive room and board, a monthly stipend, health insurance, vacation time, a potential AmeriCorps Education Award of up to $5,550, and potential student loan deferment.
