Young Professionals Committee Events Leads (Multiple Openings):
Summary: Several of our Young Professionals committees are looking for experienced and enthusiastic volunteers to serve as Event Leads. Events Leads will assist committee leadership with event planning for our Young Professionals Program. Each of our committees plan several events per year, including speakers panels, networking opportunities, career development and mentoring opportunities, and our annual International Career Dinners. There are current openings on our Asia-Pacific, Human Rights, International Economic Development, International Law, Middle East, Peace & Security, and Women & Gender committees. This is a volunteer position.
Duties of YP Committee Events Lead:
- Maintain regular contact with YP leaders and attend monthly committee leadership meetings
- Assist committee leadership with planning at least one event per quarter (contacting speakers and venues, setting up and taking down events, completing events proposals and follow ups, etc.)
- Events Leads will also be required to attend training on our event planning policies
- Average commitment of no more than 5 hours per week
Position Requirements:
- Interest in international issues and the United Nations
- Membership in UNA-NCA
- This position is open to undergraduate and graduate students, as well as other Young Professionals
- Event planning experience is preferred, but those who wish to gain skills in this area are encouraged to apply
- Must be able to attend regular meetings in Washington, DC
