Want to make a difference in a child's life and travel to a foreign country? Volunteer with WorldTeach Tanzania and you will be given the opportunity to teach English, Mathematics or Science at a Secondary School, through a partnership with the Tanzanian Ministry of Education.
Volunteer placements exist in secondary schools across the country. Volunteers will teach at the O-Level, Form 1 through Form 4. It is possible that some more advanced A-Level courses will be taught as well.
Volunteers assigned to teach English as a Second or Foreign Language are eligible to receive WorldTeach TEFL certification through our accredited certification program.
Volunteers will live in school-provided housing, and placements will generally be in pairs with one other WorldTeach volunteer.
Volunteers will depart in mid June 2013 for orientation, and must dedicate 11 months in service. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until May 1st, 2013.
The volunteer commitment covers roundtrip airfare, health and evacuation insurance, housing, and monthly stipend to cover basic living expenses.
The year long program requires volunteers to be between the ages of 18 and 74 by the departure date. Volunteers must also have a Bachelor's degree (in any subject) and demonstrate a desire to teach. Volunteers need not be a US citizen, but must be a native English speaker.
