The amount of time a volunteer will work per week varies with the particular position. Most positions require an average of one day per week. All volunteer positions require a minimum time commitment of one year.
Master Drawings is a quarterly nonprofit publication housed within the Morgan Library & Museum. It is the only scholarly periodical in the world devoted to the study of draftsmen, draftsmanship, and drawings since the Renaissance.
Duties and Responsibilties: This volunteer position will be essential in the effort to increase the journal's subscribers, donors, advertisers, and general audience. Together with the Advancement and Marketing manager, the volunteer will help update and innovate the journal's new social media platforms, draft promotional materials, prepare letters to donors, research grants, and perform other editorial and office tasks. Assistance with the publication's annual benefit gala in January and important annual fairs will also be part of the role.
highly detail-oriented, organized individual;
previous office experienece, preferably in a museum setting;
interest in art history and/or background in art, art history or art publication;
expertise in Microsoft office programs and working on a P/C;
ability to work independently and handle multiple projects simultaneously;
