Volunteer Opportunity to help English Language Learners

The Westchester Hispanic Coalition (WHC) and Westchester Community College (WCC) are proud partners in a New York State Office for New Americans - Neighborhood Opportunity Center.

Volunteers will play a critical role in the teaching and learning of English to immigrants. We are inviting students and community members to join us in these efforts by volunteering their time to assist newcomers in a language lab or as a conversation partners to small groups (approx. 5 students. Volunteers will be trained

Volunteers must be juniors/seniors in high school, college aged students or adults in the community. Volunteers are needed for a minimum of 2 hours during the following time periods beginning the week February 2, 2013:

Saturdays (beginning 2/2/13) 12 noon – 5:00 pm (minimum of 2 hours during this period)

Sundays (Beginning 2/3/2013) 12 noon – 5:00 pm (minimum of 2 hours during this period)

Wednesdays (beginning 2/6/2013) 6:30 pm – 8:30 pm
