WOULD YOU LIKE TO VOLUNTEER WITH WOMEN IN AFRICA?
Give a Heart To Africa is a small NGO located in Moshi, Kilimanjaro Region Tanzania. Our aim is to empower primarily adult women via education and to assist them with starting up their own business. We offer a free one year course in English, Business and Vocation (making tie dye, soaps, candles... also depending on volunteers' interest and abilities) to 50 students and upon graduation we help those who performed the best to start up their own business. Our volunteers can observe these businesses and/or give them professional advice.
Every Friday we conduct Home Visits. We visit 1 of our students in their home, meet their family, learn more about their culture as well as tell them more about ours.... This is one of the best experiences for our volunteers as it is a unique way for them to appreciate the local culture and visit neighbourhoods tourists would never visit. We are in need of volunteers to help us teach one of our 3 subjects. We have developed lesson plans so no prior knowledge/experience is required. Volunteers stay with us from 3 weeks to 3 months and we truly appreciate the time they can give to our students as without volunteers we would not be able to offer free education to our students who so much desire to improve their standard of living. We also run a small after school program for children; in our school they find a safe place to play, learn, have fun....
