Volunteer Opportunity description

Many of the suffers live in the rural areas without frequent access to medical care, whilst others cannot afford the medication they need. The greatest weapon we have to combat the spread of the virus is education. It is therefore important to teach people to understand the disease and how they can best protect themselves from infection.

You will work with the Ministry Of Health and the Ghana Aids Commission to teach awareness and prevention of HIV/AIDS to local communities, villages and in schools. It is also possible to work with HIV/AIDS patients at Hospitals where there is an outpatient scheme and it is possible to travel to the remote villages with some of the doctors in order to visit patients.
