Position: Volunteer Community Events Coordinator

Reports to: Executive Director

Summary:

The ideal candidate exudes a warm, engaging, and hospitable demeanor when planning events, managing registrations, handling promotions and problem solving as needed in groups of all sizes. Essential duties are to oversee the team promotion and hosting NYSOM Community events such as retreats, dinners, fundraisers, holidays, classes, holidays, and other small group events.

Avid interest in event marketing, promotions, or direct sales

Excellent written and spoken communication skills

Competent and comfortable with diverse teams

Detail in creative and enterprising solutions

Preferred computer skills in MS Word, Social Media, and the Internet

Preferred team-based learning style

Essential Functions:

1. Lead event promotion and organize resources, including local business / organization involvement

2. Create, implement & market for profit volunteer partnership program with small and mid-size businesses in 5 boroughs

3. Oversee prospective community events and book facilities

4. Coordinate event registration, catering, set-up and disassemble.

5. Design, print, and post event signage with Marketing team.

6. Administer small groups

7. Support data entry, mail merges, and correspondences

8. Administer ongoing small groups

9. Flexible weekends and evenings for special events

10. Additional projects as assigned
