The Organization
Meals On Wheels of San Francisco is committed to the belief that all seniors have the right to live independently with dignity and respect in their own homes for as long as it is safely possible. It is our mission to provide isolated homebound seniors in San Francisco with nutritious meals, daily human contact, and supportive services to prevent their premature institutionalization. We believe in delivering more than a meal - we are nourishing the whole person.
The Volunteer Opportunity
Our Home Safety & Urgent Needs program aims to provide our clients with essential safety items and assistance in making their home as safe as possible.
As a volunteer part of this program, you can help create a safer living environment for our homebound senior clients by changing the light bulbs, installing smoke detectors, delivering bath mats, and much more.
We accept volunteers of all skills levels as some of the tasks are as simple as plugging in a microwave and making sure it works properly to fixing a loose screw.
This volunteer opportunity requires a minimum of a 6-month commitment, but we are more than happy to work around YOUR schedule!
NEXT TRAINING DATE:
Tuesday, May 14th from 6pm until 8pm at 1590 Bryant St. SF, CA (Sports Basement Potrero)
