Volunteer Opportunity description

The Elder Law Project, a pro bono project of the Women's Bar Foundation, is seeking a Spanish-speaking volunteer. The Elder Law Project provides pro bono services, such as wills, health care proxies and durable power of attorney to low-income seniors. We have a number of clients who only speak Spanish and therefore need a volunteer who can translate as well as make calls to the seniors. The volunteer's responsibilities will include making calls to do intakes with the clients (we will provide training) and accompanying us to senior site visits for translation services. The time committment would be a few calls per month, depending on the number of clients who speak Spanish, and site visits occur every two to three months. This is a great opportunity for Spanish speakers to hone their translating skills, as well as for volunteers interested in the law.
