Help Deliver Groceries to Homebound Seniors!!

Posted on: February 20, 2013

Posted by: Meals On Wheels of San Francisco

Description

The Organization

Meals On Wheels of San Francisco is committed to the belief that all seniors have the right to live independently with dignity and respect in their own homes for as long as it is safely possible. It is our mission to provide isolated homebound seniors in San Francisco with nutritious meals, daily human contact, and supportive services to prevent their premature institutionalization. We believe in delivering more than a meal - we are nourishing the whole person.

The Position

In partnership with the San Francisco Food Bank, we are proud to be able to provide our clients with a grocery delivery service! As a Home Delivery & Grocery Shopper for MoWSF, you'll be able to help the homebound seniors continue eating the foods they like and cook for themselves.

It's a rewarding volunteer opportunity as you get to personally connect with some of our clients and form a bond like friendship with the isolated seniors.

This position requires at least a 6-month commitment and we'll need you to be able to deliver the groceries every Wednesday morning.

NEXT TRAINING DATE:

Thursday, May 9th from 10am until 12noon at 1375 Fairfax Ave. SF, CA 94124
