Volunteer Opportunity description

Employment Action Center, a division of RESOURCE, provides career counseling, job search assistance, work readiness training, and other support services to a variety of different populations.

Our Job Search Center Assistants assist programs that serve individuals receiving public assistance. In 2011, we assisted over 1,900 families leave public assistance for employment. And another 5,000 individuals found full or part time jobs, which reduced the amount of public assistance each family received.

Job Search Center Assistant Volunteers assist job seekers in their job search, that may include using email; performing an online job search; utilizing tools like LinkedIn; researching a potential employer; creating or editing resumes and cover letters; preparing for an interview; leading a workshop; completing online applications; etc.

Business Professionals/ Retirees strongly prefered with knowledge and experience with the hiring process from emploets' perspective. All opportunities are during normal business hours. Multiple locations available. Specific hours vary by location. 4 to 12 hours per month commitment.
