Women's Work Foundation (WW) is a nonprofit empowerment organization that focuses on advancing young women's access to quality education, promoting optimal health, and serving as a resource for wealth development through projects that strategically use media-based technology.

This is an ideal opportunity for a strategic, results-oriented leader to help advance the education, health, and wealth of girls and women. Serving on Women's Work (WW) senior leadership team, the Director of Programs will be responsible for refining and implementing WW's program model, evaluating program effectiveness, and being a programmatic thought leader that enables the organization to fulfill its vision. The Director of Programs will report to the CEO, collaborate with senior staff and manage a growing team.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Program Implementation and Innovation

  • Serve as the organization's senior leader focused on effectively implementing WW programs, especially the Social Impact Scholars Program (SISta).
  • Contribute content that supports community outreach through social media: including Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube.
  • Capture key issues facing the communities in which WW works, informing the organization's advocacy and influencing agenda.
  • Lead and develop new opportunities and programs for outreach that support the organization's vision and mission.

Team Management and Development:

  • Develop and implement a system to evaluate the skill, experience, and professional development needs of all volunteer staff.
  • Provide professional development opportunities that address volunteer staff experience and skill gaps.
  • Oversee training and orientation of all staff members.
  • Cultivate new and manage existing community, governmental, and organizational partnerships in conjunction with the Finance Managing Director.

Evaluation

  • Design and implement evaluation tools that measure the impact and effectiveness of WW programs.
  • Manage partnerships with external evaluators and researchers, contributing to the selection of evaluation tools.
  • Utilize evaluation data to suggest programmatic and operational improvements where applicable.

CANDIDATE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

Candidates should possess the following:

  • Managerial experience, including experience developing, designing, and delivering high-quality programs to impacted communities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional details.
  • Strong project management skills; ability to work efficiently and effectively while overseeing multiple work streams simultaneously.
  • Experience cultivating and managing a high-performing team to effectively meet goals
  • Ability demonstrating sound judgment based on team input.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to build strong relationships and work with individuals at all levels.
  • Knowledge and experience utilizing technology, especially social media.
  • Proficient in using technology as a meeting and management reporting tool.
  • Demonstrated success developing and evaluating program models, and selecting and successfully operationalizing innovative programs.
  • Experience having worked with a high-performance, collaborative, constructive peer group.
  • Creative, unique thinker who is committed to developing new ideas and innovative practices.
  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for the mission of Women's Work.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field required; advanced degree preferred.

COMPENSATION:

This is currently a professional volunteer position with opportunities for advancement and future paid employment.
