Education for children, especially in early childhood is very important for their development. For families who live in the city, the time for teaching their children is quite limited since the parents are busy working. Kindergarten is the early childhood formal educational level (under 6 years old). The Kindergarten curriculum is focused on the provision of educational stimulation to assist the growth and development of mind and body so that the children are ready to enter the next educational level. The kindergartens in Indonesia host children from 4 to 6 years old.
The students are given lessons based on their level. The lessons aim to improve children's creativity and raise their interest in learning though variety of approaches such as tact, values, social, religious, emotional, physical, motoric, cognitive, language, art, and independence. These schools are located in the urban setting of some cities such as Semarang, Salatiga, Makassar, Jepara, etc.
