Sembrandopaz, a small, but impressive, peace and justice group in Colombia, founded and directed by the visionary peacemaker, human rights lawyer and interfaith leader, Ricardo Esquivia, works with displaced and formerly communities in the Caribbean coast region of the country in an area called Montes de Mariía. (Please google both Ricardo and Montes de María).
We are looking for a volunteer to work as a social communicator.
Specifically, the tasks would be:
Requirements: excellent writing skills, very good photographic skills, excellent Spanish, resourcefulness, sense of humor, patience, flexibility, and passion for peace and justice.
Sembrandopaz cannot provide a salary, but your meals and transportation in the field would be covered.
First, please look at our facebook page, Sembrandopaz, and google both Ricardo Esquivia and Montes de Maria.
Then write to Lillian Hall, sembrandopazcolombia@gmail.com, telling us about you, why you are interested in working with us, and please attach a resumé. I will respond very promptly.
When you write to me, please don't send me a generic letter that you send to every organization on the web. I would like the letter addressed to me, by name, with specific reference to our work, Colombia, and the volunteer posting. I don't have the time to respond to form letters. If you write me a real email, you will get a real response. Otherwise, your letter ends up in my spam box. Thanks for understanding.
After that we can do a skype call in Spanish to make sure your Spanish is the level it needs to be to do the work.
