Job Title:
Volunteer Math All-Stars Tutor
Position Summary:
Elementary School Math All-Star tutors directly support our mission to help young people successfully learn, stay in school, and achieve in life. Tutors will help students at least once a week with understanding math concepts by playing interactive games with students.
Responsibilities:
- Attend required orientation sessions and training sessions
- Develop a positive relationship with assigned student(s)
- Be on-time and present at every Math All-Star session
- Inform the Site Coordinator if challenges or concerns arise
- Keep information about students confidential
- Comply with school policies and procedures
Required Qualifications:
- Successful completion of state background check
- Commitment to helping young people stay in school and prepare for life
- Exercise cultural competency
- Willingness to learn and apply effective tutoring methods
- Good communication skills
Time Commitment
- 2-3 hours per week on Tuesday and/or Thursday 3:00-4:45
