Office Manager for a NGO and School in Tanzania 2013

Red Sweater Project has an open position for an experienced Office Manager to manage the financial, administrative and human resource operations of the organization and Mungere Secondary School starting in June/July through December 2013. This position includes a USD300 stipend.

Mungere Secondary School and our organizational office demands the leadership and organization of a dedicated professional. The Office Manager will work with the Executive Director, coordinating the daily functions of our organizational office in Tanzania, communicating with U.S. operations and provide administrative support for school operations and campus construction.

Position Timeframe: June/July - December 2013

Responsibilities

• Accounting, recordkeeping and payroll
• Communications with staff and volunteers in U.S. and Tanzania
• Contributions to newsletter and fundraising materials
• Manage and support Tanzanian staff and international volunteer program
• Coordinate and support visitors, including partners and donors
• Engage Mungere students and/or community members in discussions and projects designed to develop entrepreneurship

QualificationsQualifications

• Minimum 4-year university degree in accounting, economics, finance, business, international development or related field
• Experience in office administration, accounting, international development or related field
• Organization and attention to detail
• Flexibility to work individually and as part of a diverse team
• Professionalism and passion
• Experience traveling, living and/or teaching abroad preferred
• Interest in Tanzania's indigenous cultures and traditions
• Ability to live in a developing community without access to western amenities

• We pick you up at Kilimanjaro Airport and transport you to your new home
• We provide orientation, familiarizing you with life in Tanzania and school operations
• We provide assistance with travel planning and arrangements
