We are currently looking for Outpatient Transportation Volunteers to join our Volunteer Voyagers Walking Program. These volunteers assist the Central Transportation Department by transporting outpatients and guests throughout Summa Akron City Hospital. They also assist with stocking wheelchair depot locations and sanitizing wheelchairs.
As a Volunteer Voyager, you will wear a pedometer and track your steps during each volunteer shift. With 2,000 steps equaling one mile, the collective goal is to walk from San Diego, California to Austin, Texas.
You will:
- Transport visitors in wheelchairs
- Wear a pedometer
- Report your steps
- Get Exercise
- Have fun!
Individuals must be friendly, courteous, and helpful to all guests and must be willing to learn the entire campus layout and how to operate the pager. We have volunteer opportunities available Monday-Friday from 8:00am-12:00pm and 12:00pm-4:00pm.
