Under the supervision of Gifting and Granting Committee, the major gift officer is mainly responsible for meeting all kinds of people who have a passion for financially support GLSEN and staying in contact with them. Sometimes it results in gifts that provide money, services or other support. This person will create and execute strategies for existing supporters and new prospective individual doners, overseeing all stages of donor relationships including cultivation, solicitation and stewardship. The major gift officer is also expected to attend fund raising events such as dinners, receptions, and other special social events.
