Description of volunteer position Function: Commercial
Field of Activity: Research and monitoring of new markets
Assignment: In the framework of its sewing shop, the foundation wishes to obtain new markets for the development of its activities and thereby to ensure the self-financing of the project.
As it does not have the necessary skills available, the foundation is recruiting a volunteer specialized in marketing to:
• identify and canvass potential new clients (making school uniforms, making professional clothes for hospitals or large businesses, subcontracting for textile factories, making clothes for designers of children's toys, etc.)
• follow up contact with clients and provide progress reports
• search for new opportunities for periodic sales of the products made (mainly comprising household linen)
Assignment Site: The foundation is located in the capital of the El Oro Province, on the Avenida de las Palmeras y Décima Norte.
The assignment will run on a part-time basis on Foundation premises, the aim being to conduct research on the Internet and by other means, to perform the monitoring of orders and to spend part of the time offsite to prospect for new markets and liaise with the clients.
Candidate profile Experience: The volunteer must possess suitable training and at least one good example of previous experience in the field of commerce. A specialization in marketing would be a plus.
Languages: The candidate must be proficient in Spanish to be quickly efficient in the post.
Required Qualities: Dynamic, the candidate must possess a high capacity for initiative in order to perform his/her assignment. Interpersonal skills are indispensable.
Financial conditions o Volunteer's contribution: responsible for cost of round-trip flights between France and Ecuador, insurance, updating vaccinations, and housing (or $5 contribution per day in exchange for housing during the stay in Ecuador)
o Foundation's contribution: responsible for providing one daily meal (lunch) and the volunteer's transportation fees (for work-related commuting).
