The Steampunk Exhibition Ball is an annual benefit for the Center for Sex Positive Culture, a local 501 (c) 7 community center. Our mission is to satisfy the social, sexy, nerdy needs of our community members by bringing together musicians, dancers, performers and educators, all within the setting of the Museum of History & Industry (860 Terry Ave. N, 98109). The Ball will be held on March 9th and will features live music, burlesque, ballroom dancing and short films.
Events of this magnitude have a thousand little strings and gears that provide a framework for the night. Competent & thoughtful staff, volunteers, and students are the backbone of this event, keeping everything running smoothly so that patrons see only the performance and art around them. Service learning students will have the opportunity to peek behind the curtain and learn the behind-the-scenes workings of a moderate scale fundraiser. Learn by doing with experienced staff. This position also allows for on-going involvement in future events.
