Aleltu, Ethiopia: ECF Children's Fund

They help to provide hope for the future for these youth north-east of the capital Addis Ababa.

The ECF village is focused on inspiring and training the children, youth and families of the community despite the growing problems related to poverty and HIV/AIDS by enrolling more children in the schools and their community outreach programs in neighboring areas. They seek to demonstrate an innovative approach that seeks to assist and empower families and communities to care and support highly disadvantaged children in great need of help.

Mombasa, Kenya: The Mustard Seed Project

Together with The Muskoka Foundation, The Mustard Seed Project aim at enhancing access to education in the local community close to Mombasa. They believe that empowering the people in the community will also help in them to improve access to their basic needs.

Think about what you could add to the activities and learning in a school or maybe you are good at just adding something essential that will just make someone's life more fulfilling.

Blantyre, Malawi: Kuunika Foundation

Since 2007, The Kuunika Foundation continues to carve the way for a brighter future for the kids and families living in the villages in Chirimba, close to Blantyre.It is managed by a team of local community volunteers who implement the different programs and projects for the sustainability of the community.

Polokwane and Lokaleng, South Africa: The Lonely Road Foundation

The Lonely Road Foundation manages over nine centers where children and youth a provided with meals, education and other recreational activities. They are always looking for new ways and ideas to make the services they render meet the different communities in the Ga-Dikgale (Limpopo province) and Lokaleng (North West Province).

Come and share your skills with the Lonely Road Foundation.

Volunteer Opportunities

Photography. You can help the youth continue exploring photography and expressing themselves in images.

Education. Share your experiences teaching at the local school for the kids from the different centers.

Entrepreneurship. Share business skills with the local organization so they can build on the services they provide to the local community.

Global Citizenship Program. Present a slideshow of your life, your hobbies and profession and journey to inspire and mingle with people in the community.

Community Healthcare. Child health care is important for local organizations that work with children. With your skills you can help improve the health issues in the community.

Vocational Training Programs. Share and Teach vocational skills like sewing and design, culinary art and IT to students and members of the community.

Sports. Are you already involved in a sports program or would like to teach new sporting skills? You can work with the youth and the local sporting teams on different activities in the community.

Gardening and Agriculture. Sustainability is one of the benchmarks of KF. They are always looking for volunteers who can help them maintain and improve on food production for the children and community.

Livestock Management. KF has started a number of projects on animal husbandry to help supplement the food at the center. Some expert advice will be encourage sustainability of the program.

Health and Welfare. KF provides basic healthcare and training to the community on hygiene and welfare. You can help to train some of the staff to continue with this project.

Other Opportunities. Agriculture, health and nutrition, community involvement. Education and IT skills, community involvement, vocational skills training.

We are focused on leveraging your skills. If you have an idea for a workshop or another way to support this organization, Do Good as You Go will work with you to make this possible!
