Who WE Are
Women Empowered ("WE") is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization comprised of professional women based in Los Angeles, California and surrounding areas. WE was founded in November 2008 and initially began as a means to connect and befriend other women. The group slowly developed into a philanthropic group. Our volunteer work supports local organizations which include women's shelters for battered women and women in poverty, and mentorship of young women and girls.

Mission Statement
Women Empowered is an organization that connects, educates and supports women of all ages and backgrounds, and inspires them to give back to their communities through mentorship, networking and volunteerism.
Be part of a young, dynamic organization whose programs impact women of all ages and backgrounds and helps teen at-risk populations. We need committed, pro-active individuals who can assist us to develop further connections with the communities we serve. Most importantly, as a board member you must be passionate about the empowerment of women. We are a group of women who are non-judgmental, non-competitive, open-minded, and caring and extremely passionate about the equality of women while building a strong network of women.
Board members come from a diversity of professional backgrounds. All are individuals who are willing to demonstrate exceptional commitment to the organization and therefore are expected to fulfill particular responsibilities.
Responsibilities will depend upon your skill set, experience and interest but will include:
•Attend quarterly Board meetings and participate in conference calls
•Brainstorm on areas for growth for the organization
•Participate in conceptualizing fundraising strategies and reach out to perspective donors
•Participate in fundraising projects
•Plan and organize annual fundraiser
•Be an ambassador for WE
•Attend networking events and open houses
