Volunteer Opportunity description

We are excited to be planning our first "Art-A-Thon" Fundraiser and are looking for volunteers to help us plan the logistics of the event! The Art-A-Thon is an event for all ages that will raise funds for HALO NYC and the Baraka Home (a home for 32 children living in Naibor, Kenya).

The art-a-thon will work off of a sponsorhip model, with participants receiving donations to create artwork during the event. The artwork will be donated to various local organizations.

Do you have exerpience promoting events? Securing donations? Are you passionate about empowering children all over the world? We'd love to have your help!

Please email Jaymie Jenks at JaymieJenks@haloworldwide.org for more information.

About Our Organization

The HALO Foundation The HALO Foundation is committed to enhancing the living conditions and providing art therapy for orphans worldwide. HALO provides American youth with opportunities to learn philanthropy and volunteerism by giving them the opportunity to make a difference to children around the world.

Children supported by HALO are provided food, water, shelter, clothing, education, and art therapy. HALO works with orphanages in Mexico, India, Uganda, Kenya, Nicaragua and residential homes in the United States. Youth from these homes submit their artwork to be sold at events in the United States, and aid in raising funds for continued support.

HALO NYC: HALO NYC, run completely by volunteers, is thrilled to be starting in New York City. We are committed to planning fundraisers to benefit the Baraka Home in Naibor, Kenya. The HALO Foundation currently supports 32 children in the home, providing beds, school fees, tuition and funding for basic needs. We will also be hosting fun workshops and events for New York City youth to connect them to youth in Kenya through letters and art.

Goals of HALO NYC:

  • Broaden the world-view of NYC youth and give them the tools and opportunities to make a difference.
  • Empower the youth of the Baraka home to reach their goals.
  • Provide an outlet for volunteers of New York to use their unique talents and skills to make a difference to youth around the world.
