Volunteer Opportunity description

Support economic development in underserved communities and small business owners in NYC by becoming a volunteer business mentor with the Workshop in Business Opportunities.

Founded in 1966 in Harlem, the Workshop in Business Opportunities (WIBO) is a private non-profit organization that is committed to assisting men and women with the drive to become successful entrepreneurs. WIBO's mission is to enable small business owners and budding entrepreneurs from underserved communities to obtain financial success by starting, operating, and building successful businesses that develop economic power, provide jobs and improve communities.

WIBO is an organization of successful business owners and senior executives who volunteer valuable time and experience throughout the 16-week workshop, How to Build a Growing Profitable Business. WIBO continuously seeks out caring professionals and business owners who have an interest in sharing their knowledge in a variety of ways that range in time commitment and experience levels. Some of the volunteer positions we are looking to fill are:

  • Workgroup Leaders
  • Business Coach
  • Discussion Leaders
  • Legal and Accounting Volunteers
