The Habitat for Humanity ReStore resells donated home improvement items and uses the proceeds to fund Habitat for Humanity GSF's mission of building homes for families in the community. We build homes for low-income families in San Francisco, Marin and the Peninsula, keep goods out of landfills, and provide affordable, quality home-improvement items for the community.
Since there are only three full time staff members, volunteers make the ReStore possible. Volunteers help take donations, work with customers, design and create amazing vignettes, complete light construction, and get the word out. Some of our positions DO requiring lifting, but we have options for everyone. No experience necessary!
Shifts are flexible: Wed - Saturday from 9-1 or 1-5. You can volunteer as often or as little as you like.

Here are some ways you can help out at the ReStore: -take donations directly from donors -fix, clean, repair, and price donations -organize merchandise in an attractive, creative, and space-efficient way -run the cashier -go on our truck and help pick-up items -make online advertisements for our merchandise -help out in the office with data-entry, making signs, research, writing, and other projects -attend outreach events with staff

Regular volunteers receive a t-shirt, merchandise discounts, invites to Habitat events, snacks, and the incredible feeling that comes from giving back to the community.
We can also provide hours verification for school, university, or community service. You must be at least 14 to volunteer.
