Organization Overview:
Since 1995, Futures and Options has empowered New York City's underserved youth to explore careers through career development and paid, mentored internships. Our model program enables youth to gain much needed access to the economic mainstream, work‐readiness training and support from caring adults. At the same time, private and nonprofit businesses are connected to a pipeline of promising, motivated and diverse young people. Since our inception, Futures and Options has served more than 3,000 New York City teens and coordinated internship placements at more than 350 private and nonprofit businesses in New York City, with more than 90% of all participants successfully completing the program, graduating from high school and pursuing higher education.
Description:
We are seeking a talented photographer to take high-quality photos of our youth career development workshops and career exploration events. This is a wonderful opportunity for a photographer to build his/her portfolio and develop his/her skills. We are looking for someone with a flexible schedule who can cover workshops and events, which are usually afterschool, as needed and give back to the community.
Qualifications:
- · Able to attend Futures and Options workshops and/or events as requested to photograph our students and staff.
- · Must provide own equipment and transportation.
- · Must have prior experience with and knowledge of photography; degree qualifications preferred.
