Description

Hotline Volunteers provide immediate service to victims of sexual assault by staffing our 24-hour sexual assault crisis hotline. Hotline Volunteers may contact victims for phone counseling or accompany victims to local emergency rooms and provide medical advocacy. They may also occasionally provide advocacy at local police stations.

Volunteers will be requiredto submit paperwork following each victim contact and communicate closely with our Center in order to serve our clients efficiently and effectively.

The Hotline Volunteer position is a 6 month minimum commitment. Volunteers will complete a 35 hour online training with 5 in-person meetings to become NYS Certified Rape Crisis Counselors. Following the training, volunteers will be required to sign up for 5 shifts (5-7 hours each) per month.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
