The Environmental Policy Volunteer will work as part of Save The Bay's Policy Department focusing on either our Restoration Funding or Clean Bay initiatives. As a member of a small team of enthusiastic and dedicated advocates, the Environmental Policy Volunteer will be responsible for conducting research, assisting in implementation of priority projects and providing support for our grassroots and communications objectives.
Regional Restoration Campaign (1 position): Save The Bay is embarking on an ambitious campaign to build a constituency of over 100,000 people across the region in support of restoration of San Francisco Bay. Parallel to this work is collaboration with public agencies and community stakeholders toward a likely 2014 regional ballot measure to fund re-establishment of Bay wetlands, prevent flooding and expand public access to the Bay shoreline.
Clean Bay Project (1 position): The Clean Bay Project is our campaign supporting innovative and effective pollution prevention programs at the municipal level. By working collaboratively with city and county government and community stakeholders, we are making dramatic strides to improve the health of our wetlands, Bay shoreline and local waterways.
Both Policy Volunteer positions will start on or around February 12, 2013
To apply, please send cover letter and resume to firstname.lastname@example.org. Please include "Spring Policy Volunteer" and the name of the specific program for which you are applying in the subject line. Application will be accepted on a rolling basis, with priority given to those submitted prior to January 23, 2013.
