The Chief Operating Officer and Senior Vice President of Operations is responsible for ensuring that plans are executed and goals and objectives become reality. The ideal candidate is a mission-focused, seasoned, strategic, and process-minded leader with experience scaling an organization, leading an executive management team, and developing a performance culture among a group of diverse, talented individuals. He or she manages all operational divisions at AMPHS National, and is responsible for overseeing operations in community engagement and community services. In this role, the candidate will work to improve the impact of the organization's medical and public health services and training programs, as well as guide and motivate volunteers to ensure that deadlines, goals, and plans are met to satisfaction. The COO will be able to keep the organization's mission in clear sight and deliver measurable, cost-effective results. The Senior Vice President of Operations and COO reports directly to the President & CEO.
An advanced degree (Masters or above) in Business Administration, Public Administration, Social Work, Public Health, or a related discipline is preferable, although candidates specializing in other academic concentrations are welcome to apply. Candidates without an advanced degree should have significant work or leadership experience, a strong ability to think strategically, and demonstrated enthusiasm for social entrepreneurship.
