About Agora Partnerships
Agora Partnerships is a premier business accelerator that promotes the growth of early-stage impact companies throughout Latin America; companies that are solving critical social, economic, and environmental problems in their communities. We are a global community of entrepreneurs, investors, mentors, and individuals dedicates to using the power of business to effect positive change. We work only with early-stage entrepreneurs where the right kind of support can significantly accelerate their ability to create impact.
Over the past two years, we have worked with 18 companies operating in some of the poorest regions of the Western Hemisphere. Over 70 percent of our Class of '11 received millions of dollars in investment, propelling these impact companies to an average of an 80 percent growth rate. Now, we are expanding from our base in Central America and searching for 30 new companies spanning the whole of Latin America to help accelerate impact for the region.
Position Description
- Agora Partnerships seeks a fluent, Spanish-language marketing assistant to help the organization expand its traditional and online engagement within the impact-investment and social-entrepreneurship movement both domestically and in Latin America.
- The individual in this position will conduct Spanish-language online engagement, particularly within social media: Tweeting, Facebooking, and helping manage certain content on Agora's Spanish-language website
- Individual may also be asked to assist in translating marketing collateral, web content, and other documents (Spanish <−> English).
- Marketing assistant will also participate in conversations regarding online outreach, domestic and Latin-American engagement strategy, and developing blog content
- The marketing assistant will work closely with both Agora's DC-based Director of Marketing and Communications and the organization's Nicaragua-based Spanish-language manager.
Commitment
- Approximately 10 hours per week
Qualifications
- Fluency in Spanish (note: native speakers not required)
- Excellent communications skills in both English and Spanish
- Social media familiarity a must
- Past experience in similar marketing/communications roles (whether volunteer or part- / full-time) a plus
