Volunteer Opportunity description

This project will combine visits to communities near the city of Cochabamba where the volunteers will be raising awareness on issues like heritage, waste recycling, environment and community work with local people. The group will visit various projects and rural communities within the Plan for Alternative Tourism Network and organize alternative travel packages involving local people. The volunteers, in cooperation with the local community, will help in the promotion of the famous Oruro Carnival, which is one of UNESCO's Masterpieces of the Oral and Intangible Heritage of Humanity and dates back more than 2000 years. They will also support the development of alternative eco-tourist sites near Cochabamba.
