We are looking for a passionate and driven individual to help us research, coordinate and apply for grants. Ambassadors for Sustained Health (www.weareASH.org) is an all-volunteer non-profit that just turned five years old. We're growing at a steady pace and we'd love to bring someone on to fuel our development.

The Grant Writer will report to the Executive Director. This position requires a minimum 6 month commitment, 12 months preferred.

Why ASH?

Work with a team of passionate and supportive individuals.

Build your grant writing experience - This is invaluable experience for anyone looking to break into the nonprofit field.

Contribute to the growth of a small, but mighty global health non-governmental organization.

--

Duties:

  • Research grant opportunities.
  • Develop, write, and edit grant proposals, reports, and budgets.
  • Work with the Core Team and officers to develop new ideas for funding.
  • Identify new funding opportunities.
  • Prepare internal reports for staff, board, and other constituencies.

--

About You:

  • Bachelor's degree required. 2+ years non-profit or other relevant experience preferred. Successful grant writing experience preferred.
  • You have exceptionally strong writing skills. You have demonstrable experience with research, writing, editing, and more writing (and more editing). You have a meticulous attention to details, and you're organized.
  • You know the basics. You're well versed in all things Google, and of course, MS Word, Excel, and Powerpoint.
  • You love a challenge. Great accomplishments don't come easily, and you know this from experience. You thrive in situations that make you think outside the box, and you don't limit your own potential. You hate to see items uncrossed on your to-do list, and know how to get tasks done.
  • You work well independently and in teams. You're a self-starter with strong self-management skills, but you also appreciate the value of collaboration. You have strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • You are passionate about global health and ASH's mission. You're interested in international development, global health, or just doing something good.
