Driver/transporting student tutors

Posted on: January 30, 2013

Posted by: College Track - Aurora

Description

Founded in 1997, College Track is a non-profit organization that exists to help students who have the desire but lack the resources and support to attain higher education and fulfill their own best promise. Through a comprehensive program of academic support and leadership training, College Track helps students successfully complete high school and enter and graduate from college.

We are currently in need of drivers for two near-peer tutoring programs we are setting up through our College Track-Aurora tutorting center, one with Horizon Middle School and one with Sable Elementary. We are selecting exceptional, mature freshman and sophomore students to conduct tutoring sessions at nearby middle and elementary schools. Our ideal driver candidate would be able to do the following on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays:

  • Pick-up Horizon Middle School tutors @ CT center by 3:00
  • Drop-off students @ Horizon at 3:15
  • Pick up Sable Elementary tutors@ CT Center by 3:40
  • Drop-off Sable Elementary tutorsby 4:00
  • Pick-up Horizon Middle School tutors by 4:15
  • Drop-of Horizon Middle School tutorsat CT by 4:30
  • Pick-up Sable Elementary tutorsby 5:15
  • Return to CT center by 5:30

All locations are very close to one another. The College Track (CT) center is located at 16950 E. Iliff Ave #F4, Aurora, Colorado, 80013. Horizon Middle School is located at 3981 S Reservoir Rd,Aurora, CO 80013 (6 minute drive from CT center). Sagebrush Elementary is located at 14700 E. Temple Pl., Aurora, CO 80015 (14 minute drive from CT center).

Our ideal drivers would volunteer, but we can also offer up to $60/wk (or $30 if you could only do one day of driving; $12/hr). Drivers wouldn't have to do any chaperoning. Drivers would be provided with a vehicle at the CT center and would not be responsible for gas. Drivers must have a good driving record.

If you (or someone you know) have any availability on either day, please contact us ASAP. We imagine the position would begin over the next couple of weeks and would continue through the end of the academic year (May 21). These would be great, win-win opportunities for our kids to gain valuable experience tutoring and also to make a difference in younger students' lives. Thanks so much for your consideration.
