Volunteer Opportunity description

Be a VIP in 2013!

Without the help of volunteers nonprofits would not be able to complete their missions. However, engaging volunteers takes capacity that many nonprofit organizations do not have. The United Way of King County and 501 Commons is here to help organizations develop and maintain a successful volunteer program though the Volunteer Impact Partnership (VIP).

United Way's VIP 360 places teams of two skilled volunteers with organizations in order to facilitate a 360 degree assessment of their volunteer program. Volunteer consultants facilitate discussions and lead the organization through a strategic planning process so that organizations can make the fundamental shifts necessary to thoroughly engage volunteers.

VIP 360 consultants will:

  • Help identify key issues based on a 360 degree assessment of the volunteer program
  • Plan and facilitate planning meetings and develop a written plan for improving the organizations volunteer programs
  • Serve about 10-12 hours per month, February through May

If you are enthusiastic about volunteerism and have skills in human resources, volunteer management, or planning and facilitation, this is a great opportunity for you! Be part of a corps of highly trained professionals dedicated to helping organizations build their capacity and apply today: http://www.501commons.org/volunteer/application.
