About Fair Trade USA:
Fair Trade USA, a four-time winner of Fast Company Magazine's Social Capitalist award, is an entrepreneurial non-profit organization that is the leading third party certifier of Fair Trade products in the United States. Our unique market-based model links 2.5 million farming families in the developing world to more than 900 companies in the United States to bring more benefit to farmers and high-quality products to consumers. Based in downtown Oakland, Fair Trade USA is a fast-paced, dynamic environment driven by a passion for doing good in the world by harnessing the power of markets and corporate partnerships.
We are looking for a group of volunteers with varying abilities who wish to elevate Fair Trade USA's donor and community presence in the Bay Area. This volunteer group will meet once a month, with alternating locations between Oakland (Fair Trade USA's Office) and San Francisco (TBD). Volunteer meetings are mandatory! Each volunteer will agree to donate 8-10 hours of their free time per week to play a critical role in Fair Trade USA's donor expansion.
Support the Resource Development team with mailings, outreach, or other office related tasks.
Particularly helpful during the months of September, October (Fair Trade Month) November, and December and May (World Fair Trade Day)
Email a paragraph stating your interest and background, along with your resume. Please state examples of relevant skills and experience that you will contribute to the position; and enumerate several realistic goals for what they wish to learn and experience serving on the committee.
Qualified candidates will be contacted by phone and/or email, and asked to participate in a follow-up phone interview. Due to the number of applications we receive, we will be able to respond only to those candidates who are selected for interviews, but we thank all candidates for their interest in Fair Trade USA.
