Foster parenting is a very important job and should be taken seriously. As a foster parent, you provide the animals who are in our temporary custody a safe and loving environment while they're treated for illness, such as an upper respiratory infection, recover from surgery or waiting for a cage to open up at the PetSmart adoption center.
We provide food, litter box and litter (although if you'd like to provide these items, we would certainly appreciate it!). The Queenie Foundation pays for veterinary treatment and other supplies necessary for the foster animal's recovery.
We know that people have busy lives and aren't consistently available to take care of an animal so rather than requiring a certain amount of time to be a foster parent, such as six to 12 months, we ask that you foster on a case by case basis. Animals can be in our care for as little as a few days to several months depending on their specific needs.
You will fill out an application, provide references and have a home visit.
