Description

Description

The first African country to gain independence from colonial rule, the Republic of Ghana is unique in so many ways. Roughly the size of Britain, English-speaking Ghana is smaller than many of its neighbors but also densely populated. Each of Ghana's ten regions offers a unique experience - including historic slave forts, indigenous crafts, game parks and the only jungle canopy walk in Africa. On the southern border, miles of beautiful coastline invite you to relax on its beaches.

"Feel Free" is an expression you hear often in Ghana. It means that you are free to be yourself and to explore what interests you. Ghanaians are renowned for their friendliness and hospitality!

Volunteering in Ghana means jumping in and immersing yourself in Ghana's laid-back culture through a village placement in Putubiw or Biakpa.

United Planet's Volunteer Abroad Quest program offers signature pre-departure and in-country training, personal volunteer support, meaningful volunteer opportunities, diverse cultural and learning activities, local excursions, a strong host family network, and much more.
