This program is set in one of the most beautiful natural settings of The Cloud Forest of Ecuador, which is recognized around the world for its unique and astonishing landscapes where the jungle touches the sky. Located 3 hours from the city of Quito, and nestled in a spot with an abundance of amazing biodiversity such as howler monkeys, ocelots, and varieties of brightly colored avian species. The program is set within a luxury hotel, where 70% of the staff come from the local communities and have poor knowledge of the English language.
Volunteers are required to participate in the following tasks:
Teaching English to the local guides and the service staff.
Working and assisting the guides and staff while they do their jobs, so that you can teach them in practice how to communicate with the visitors.
Teaching any volunteers that might arrive to continue with the work you have started.
Prepare materials with the staff to make sure that once you finish your time the next volunteer can continue the process instead of starting over again.
Accommodation is provided in the staff building located just a 5 minute walk from the hotel, with all facilities (Hot water, internet, Tv with Cable) in shared rooms. Food is also provided and you will eat with the rest of the team. During time off you will be able to go back to Quito, and have the chance to explore some other amazing places that Ecuador has to offer.
NOTE: This program has a minimum stay of 4 weeks. Knowledge of the Spanish language will be a distinct advantage, but is not a prerequisite for this program. Spanish lessons can be arranged during your placement in Ecuador, and are highly recommended.
