Volunteer Opportunity description

Celebrating its 51st anniversary this year, the Logan Square Neighborhood Association convenes networks of neighbors, schools, businesses, social service agencies, faith communities, and other organizations to collaborate for thriving communities in Logan Square, Avondale, and Lathrop Homes. LSNA is committed to empowering and maintaining these communities as diverse, safe, and affordable neighborhoods in which to live and work, learn and grow.

Join the statewide movement that has helped over 55,000 Illinois residents apply for Citizenship!

We are looking for good people to help others become citizens through the New Americans Initiative (NAI). LSNA and our partner organizations host monthly Citizen Workshops where the N-400 application is filled out by volunteers and reviewed by immigration law experts.

All volunteers must go through a one-time, 2-hour training. Workshops are held one Saturday per month from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM.

Volunteers should exhibit the following qualities/skills: • Considerable attention to detail • Self-motivation • Excellent people skills • An interest in community organizing and social justice
