Description: SONATI is a Nicaraguan non-profit environmental education organization, carrying out FREE activities for thousands of local children and many other environmental projects.
SONATI also offers eco-adventure tours for tourists, ALL tour profits finance our environmental projects. We are looking for energetic and motivated volunteers to work as trekking guides and share the beauty of Nicaragua with tourists from all over the world. Work at SONATI can be intensive, but very rewarding: volunteers have a lot of space to influence and make a change in SONATI; work with excellent motivated team; and can always join our environmental activities and see with your own eyes what can be financed only thanks to you and where the treks' money is going!
Assistant Manager of tours duties and responsibilities:
Can go on treks if desired and learn guiding topics for each trek (mainly volcanism and local flora & fauna) Guide 1-2 treks per week. Includes preparation and cleanup of each trek.
Help with promotions and treks publication at Leon.
Help at the SONATI tour desk to attend clients and answer questions and sign people up for treks.
Looking for creative people to help expand the business and sell tours
Qualifications:
Outdoor trekking experience. Good physical condition. Friendly, very good inter-personal communicative abilities. Good English. At least basic Spanish. Additional languages- advantage.
Time commitment: At least 1 year
Additional information: All expenses while on treks are paid by Sonati, such as for transportation and food.
