I Am We is looking for a grant writer to support our organization in Chicago! We are a grass roots organization comprised of anthropologist, artist, educators and professionals that believe when communities are inspired the positively act and invest within their communities. In Chicago, many underserved communities are uninspired, and as a result they are stagnate, non-engaged and often vulnerable to abandonment, crime, poor health, poverty and miss valuable resources. I Am We understands to address this urgent issue, we need to engage disconnected communities. Therefore our goal is to be a leader in unifying communities through the medium of arts, inspiration, outreach, education, programming and advocacy. Now, all we need is you to be a key contributor in making our goal a reality.

VOLUNTEER RESPONSIBILITIES: All granter writers are expected to:
-research potential grant opportunities for I Am We
-consult with I Am We operations re: grant opportunities
-work with I Am We to complete applicable grant opportunities
-develop a deep understanding of the mission, vision and goals of the organization
OPTIONAL: spend 1 week volunteering with I Am We.
SKILLS NEEDED: I Am We ideal volunteer candidate has:
-grant writing experience
-a passion for serving underserved communities
-independence, initiative and a strong work ethic
-strong communication skills
-non-profit experience
-patience and flexibility
WORKING HOURS: Each grant writer is expected to work on average 10 hours/week for I Am We. We understand that different people work at different paces so these hours may be longer or shorter depending on the writer's work style.
